Rustic Elegance

With wedding season quickly approaching, we are sure to see many new trends emerging for the 2015 season. At the start of the new year I found myself reflecting on this topic and it inspired me to put my design ascetic to work. For the past four months, I have been creating three unique looks that I am thrilled to share with you in the upcoming weeks. With the help of talented vendors from all over Grand Rapids areas, the ideas came to life and were captured in a photo series by the fabulous duo, Ever After Studios.
The last couple years have been a wonderful explosion of rustic weddings and this girl loves a good barn wedding. Spinning off of mason jars, burlap and lace, I was recently inspired to design what I see for the future of this trend. I am so excited to share with you all one of my latest inspirations, Rustic Elegance.

The wedding designs were shot at one of my favorite venues, The Cheney Place, and highlighted furniture from Fancy Fray. Could the farm tables be any more amazing? They complimented the table settings perfectly; their rich wood tone made the colors POP! With a brilliant scene of vibrant gold and splashes of light rose, myself and a team of talented individuals helped make Rustic Elegance come to life; which turned out to be everything we imagined and more.

The goals when creating this theme was to, obviously, have it attract to many people aspiring to wed, but also have that classy/elegant feel with a touch of modernization. We immediately fell in love. The china and glassware, thank you to The Rental Company, added a tremendous touch of gold to the room that was complimented well by the elegant chiavari gold chairs and chargers, courtesy of The Chair Cover Collection.

And then there were florals. Posh Petals did a jaw-dropping job on this amazing eucalyptus runner along with the two swags that accompanied the bride and groom’s chairs. SPOILER ALERT: this is a fantastic way to highlight the couple of the evening with it flowing naturally with the rest of the setting yet standing out on its own. The peaches and pink blooms that peak-a-boo’d throughout the runner were to die for, I was in heaven. Elizabeth is a genius and made my vision for this design come to life!

The piece de resistance was the exaggerated French macaroon that topped the gorgeous place setting. Trust me when I tell you they tasted as amazing as they looked, I had three. Hint, hint favor idea! Talk about a unique dessert option! A huge thank you to Darling Street Bakery for making my detailed wishes come true and for not thinking I was crazy in asking for a 4-inch macaroon! These were my kind of heaven.

Stay tuned, two more from this day to come :)
